Maintenance
Has it been awhile since your machine has sewn a stitch? A tune-up is just what it needs to get you into your Sewing Happy Place again.
-

Is your machine missing a part? Is there a part that is broken? I can source the part for you and install it.
-
Restoration
Have you found a thrift store treasure or inherited a machine? Most antique and vintage machines CAN run again! Planned obsolescence? What’s that?

Motor Service & Rewiring
Wire insulation gets brittle with age and becomes a hazard. I can service and rewire vintage motors to give them a second life.
Frequently Asked Questions

A general maintenance service entails an external and internal inspection, a cleaning both inside and out and lubrication.
Repairs are needed when broken or missing parts are noted during inspection. I will communicate with you about cost of parts and labor prior to ordering.Restoration is for machines that have not been used for years (or decades!) and most likely need extra attention to get them back into operation. That dusty Singer from 1915 that has been lurking in the basement since the 1940s can sew again like the day it was made!
Motor service & rewiring for vintage and antique machines when you would like to retain that vintage look rather than buying a new motor. Vintage foot pedals can also be cleaned and adjusted.

This varies due to the number of machines I have taken in (some times are busier than others). I also work a full-time job, so machine servicing is done on evenings and weekends.
Some machines end up requiring more work than anticipated so a routine service might extend to 2-3 weeks. Life happens, of course, but I strive to not have a machine longer than 6 weeks. Please contact me to check on the status of your machine.
